Job Summary

Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, performs technical review, tracks, and processes departmental building permits. Completes the necessary review of the permit submittals and provides technical commentary in writing as appropriate. Performs field inspections when appropriate and at the direction of the Deputy Commissioner to support or dispute claims, verify plan submittals, support field inspectors, consult with project engineers, and administer professional service contracts.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering and
  • Two (2) years as a civil engineer or directly related experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
  • Valid driver's license with proof of insurance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

 Two (2) years of work experience in stormwater management and design or review of site improvement plans.

• Certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager

 • One (1) or more years of work experience using AutoCAD or similar software.

Salary and Benefits

Posting Salary:  $90,678 - $100,062 Yearly
